Since WWII we have created 75,000-80,000 synthetic chemicals,
most of which have not been tested for health effects on humans over time.
These xenobiotic (foreign to life) substances are taken into our bodies and
accumulate in fatty tissue, resulting in neurotoxicity, endocrine dysfunction,
immunological disorders, and damage to mitochondria, RNA, and DNA.
Medical treatment usually consists of adding more synthetic chemicals and
toxins to the body. Research suggests that this is a contributing factor to many chronic and degenerative disorders, including chronic fatigue, mood
swings, fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivities, muscle weakness,
fertility problems, increasing sensitivity to exposures or medictions, memory
loss, and cancer.
Seminars on Toxicity and Detoxification/ Medicinal Foods for Healing originated in St. Petersburg, Florida in the fall of 2002. These seminars were brought into being
to create greater awareness of health risks associated with toxicity, of the
body’s natural detoxification systems, and of medicinal properties of
foods that can protect us from toxins and heal toxic disorders. Seminars
offered a toxicity self-test, research on toxicity and medicinal foods,
and recipes for delicious medicinal foods for healing. Participants were
introduced to burdock, daikon, shitaki mushrooms, kelp and kombu, and
umeboshi plums, medicinal herbs with remarkable healing powers.
At these seminars, we taste-tests medicinal foods. One of our basic recipes
is a lentil soup that research suggests may have remarkable healing properties.
Ingredients in this soup have been shown to:
clean the blood and arteries, lower cholesterol, dissolve fat,
stabilize blood sugar, stabilize mood,
improve cognitive functioning,
and protect cells against:
heavy metals,
radiation,
allergens, viruses and bacteria,
HIV, hepatitis and liver disease,
Alzheimer’s, and cancer.
